I purchased my 1957 Oval Beetle in March of 2017. While visiting some friends in Colorado I walked into Motorworks Restorations and talked to Jeremy Vreeman. He gave me good advice — make sure whoever restores the car is first-class. He recommended Buddy Hale of Type One Restorations in Arizona. Buddy then recommended Cooker's Restoration in Maryland, saying I would not be disappointed in their work. Boy was he right! I looked at the Cooker's website and saw the rusted-out cars they take in and was really impressed. Seems like they take the worst of the worst that most other shops shy away from. I called Bob and he seemed excited about my project. The results were spectacular — a show-quality '57 Oval that exceeded every expectation.

I trusted Cooker's with my 1967 Deluxe 21-Window Bus — an 18-month frame-off restoration. From the moment I dropped it off to the day I picked it up, the communication was outstanding. Cooker's built my 1952 VW Zwitter — one of the rarest body styles out there, and a car that needed expertise to restore properly. They nailed it. The Zwitter has the early split-windshield front end combined with the later oval dash, and every detail of the restoration respected that uniqueness. The fit and finish are perfect. I'm proud to drive it to every show, and Cooker's deserves all the credit.

Cooker's did the custom fabrication work on my Beetle — including a custom wing and roll bar that had to be built from scratch. The craftsmanship on the fabrication was incredible.
